Your First Lesson
Your first lesson at Fox Run Farm will be a Private Evaluation Lesson. This lesson is an opportunity to introduce you to our program and allow your instructor to assess your current skill level. Afterward, the instructor will discuss your goals in order to develop a program to best suit your needs. The Evaluation Lesson is $65.00.
What will you need on your first day? You should wear long pants and a boot with a heel (no high heels!) We have riding helmets available but you are welcome to bring your own if it is an ATSM/SEI approved helmet. Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. We ask you to please advise us of any physical limitations that may affect your ability to ride.

Levels Of Instruction:
We offer various Lesson Programs and Specialty Programs for riders of all ages an experience levels.
Mommy & Me
(Daddies welcome too!) – $50.00 - Parent and child work together with the help of an instructor. Your child will develop the balance, strength, and coordination it takes to make their pony walk, trot, turn, and stop. This is a 45 minute lesson for children ages 3 and up. Maximum of 5 riders.
Beginners
$50.00 - A walk/trot class designed for riders that are just beginning to learn how to ride. The focus is on improving their riding skills as they develop the muscle and balance required to handle a horse or pony. Students will work with an assistant as well as the instructor and learn basic terminology used in horsemanship. This is a 45 minute lesson with a maximum of 5 riders.
Advanced Beginners
$45.00 - Once students demonstrate the ability to ride at the walk and trot without an assistant they progress into our advanced beginner program. Students will continue working on correct body position and proper handling of the horse. Riders will learn to recognize the correct diagonal at the trot, perform circles, figure eights, and obstacle courses to challenge their abilities and build a strong foundation. When the rider is ready, cantering will be introduced. Students will continue to learn terminology including horse colors, parts of the horse, and parts of the saddle and bridle. Maximum of 8 riders.
Novice
$45.00 - This level will bring riders their first experience with jumping. Students will continue to practice control at the canter, be introduced to cantering as a group, and will learn about leads at the canter. They will work on upward and downward transitions and will jump their first crossrails in preparation for their advance to our intermediate program. Riders will review and learn new elements of horsemanship in these lessons. Maximum of 8 riders.
Intermediate
$45.00 - Students will learn to ride straight lines, use their arena, and square their corners in order to beautifully execute a full course of crossrails. Flying lead changes will be introduced. Riders will review and learn new elements of horsemanship in these lessons. Maximum of 8 riders.
Intermediate Jump
$45.00 - In this class, students will continue to use their skills and improve their riding ability. They will work over higher jumps that will consist of verticals, bending lines and rollbacks. Maximum of 8 riders.
Advanced Jump
$45.00 - At this level, students jump higher and more technical courses and will surely take great pride in their success. Riders can look forward to learning more technical maneuvers and riding more challenging horses while continuing to grow in their chosen sport.
We offer a $5 per lesson discount if you pay the full monthly tuition (min 4 lessons per month) in advance by the 5th of the month. Lessons are not cancelled due to weather- missed lessons will be forfeited. We ask you give us a minimum of 24 hr notice if you have a scheduling conflict or will miss a lesson. We do not refund or carry over payments for missed lessons- missed lessons will be rescheduled at a time convenient for the rider and instructor. We require 4 week advance written notice to exit the lesson program. Call for more information (704) 743-3132.
